Havana 505 : la reconstitution d’un destin hors du commun

Après la parution d’Afrikaners, les secrets de Vryland, qui a obtenu le prix du premier roman des Ecrivains de Vendée 2010, Cyriaque Griffon publie Havana 505, une biographie romancée.
Quelle est la genèse de cette histoire ? Je regardais, le western Vera Cruz et comme professeur d’anglais, l’accent français de l’actrice Denise Darcel m’a intrigué. Je me documente sur Internet, je remarque le message d’un certain Fernando Pruna qui l’a connue dans les années 50 et qui la recherche aussi. Tout est parti de la photo qu’il m’a alors envoyée : il est entouré de l’actrice Denise Darcel et de sa sœur Hélène qui est chanteuse. J’ai voulu en savoir plus ! J’ignorais alors que j’allais partager les aventures lointaines d’un jeune cubain, séducteur et contre révolutionnaire.

FBI Opens shoe in which a document

This is the pair of shoes used to smuggle a secret document out of the Isle of Pines Prison accusing the Castro government of being ready to dynamite over five thousand political prisoners being held in the Isle of Pines Prison. December 1961.


The process of splitting open the shoes to see which one of the pair contains the smuggled document which was to be presented as an accusation to the Castro Communist Regime before the OEA.

A view from La Cabaña Fortress past Malecón Drive and into the city of Havana‏

Havana lies on the northern coast of Cuba, south of the Florida Keys, where the Gulf of Mexico joins the Caribbean.

The city extends mostly westward and southward from the bay, which is entered through a narrow inlet and which divides into three main harbours: Marimelena, Guanabacoa, and Atarés. The sluggish Almendares River traverses the city from south to north, entering the Straits of Florida a few miles west of the bay.
